About
I've written many documentary scripts, newspaper articles and criticism, and some fiction. I am a graduate of Smith College (BA), New York University (MA) and Simon Fraser University's The Writers Studio. My documentaries have appeared on The Discovery Channel, PBS and MSNB, among others; and my articles in The Salt Lake Tribune, The Village Voice, The National Observer, and more.
I had the privilege of being a student of James Baldwin for a charmed year in the 1980s.
My travels have taken me to Europe, and into South American, Asia and Africa. I was born in the USA but live in Canada, as a dual citizenship. I'm a mother and a visual artist, and occasionally a tea barista and a producer.
I just finished a novel about ghosts and women and horses, and a proposal for a book about my father's city, Salt Lake City.
There is never enough time to do everything I want to do, to see everything I want to see, to learn what I still need to learn.
